CURRENT AFFAIRS OF  6th  JUNE 2022    

 

  1. The UN Russian Language Day is observed annually on 6 June. The day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 2010.
  2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a global initiative Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) Movement, on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5 June, 2022.
  3. The Government on 2 June 2022 appointed Canara Bank Executive Director A. Manimekhalai as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD and CEO) of Union Bank of India. 
  4. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on 5 June, 2022 inducted 21 ministers including 7 first-timers and 3 women, in the biggest ever cabinet reshuffle in his 22 year long reign.
  5. The government has appointed Swarup Kumar Saha as head of Punjab and Sind Bank. Saha, who is the Executive Director of Punjab Nationa Bank (PNB), replaced S Krishnan, who also superannuated on 31May.
  6. Spaniard Rafael Nadal on 5 June, 2022 won the 14th singles title of the French Open beating Casper Ruud of Norway 6-3, 6-3, 6-0, in the final.  
  7. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on 5 June, 2022 inaugurated the National Food Laboratory of FSSAI at Razaul in Bihar.
  8. The Punjab government on 5 June, 2022 announced that it has decided to ban all single-use plastic from July 2022.
  9. Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated the National Tribal Research Institute (NTRI) in New Delhi on 7 June, 2022.  
  10.  The national Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and World Resources Institue (WRI) India, jointly announced ‘Leaders in Climate Change Management’ (LCCM), on 5 June, 2022.
  11.  16 Year Old Kajol Sargar became the first glod medallist in the Khelo India Youth Games 2021 on 5 June, 2022.
  12.  The Dutch documentary film ‘Turn Your Body to the Sun’ has won the Golden Conch award for the Best Documentary Film at MIFF 2022.
